Yankee Stadium and Yankee Fans

We we're there less then then a week before the All Star Game and it was a pit. They ran out of beer and hot dogs in the upper deck before first pitch and were unable to resupply before the third. Navigating the concourse was a third world experience and the entire place was full of yankee fans...

"You have a son in the crowd."

i can only assume...

this urinal, just outside of the Cubs' dugout, is where Moises Alou did most of in-season callus building. i imagine due to the unfortunate placement of the spigot, below and off to the left of the urinal, that the grounds crew also have piss tough paws..

the Last Locker of Turnbow!

Among the ghosts of Ruth, Robinson and Clemente we visited today in the visitor's clubhouse of Wrigley Field was the momentary altar of Derrick Turnbow. Released in actuality, here paused a major league baseball player. In my best case childhood fantasies, Turnbow's career most resembles my own. more to come from the walking tour of Wrigley soon.

Anyone who has ever wondered what it's like to bed Jose Canseco needs to read this. Without a doubt, the finest Canseco related words ever scribbled.

Some excellent Ozzie...

I saw this movie...

while fighting a fever in Mexico. At the time, i believed it a divine hallucination of Mayan Gods calling me to greatness. I then came to know it as "SANTO & BLUE DEMON VS LOS MONSTRUOS"! Now, i realize there has been a cartoon network show about him, somewhat to my disappointment.

There are so many tremendous and beautiful things in this world we will never see.

And so many of them are named "Santo".

At his own request, Santo was buried in his mask.
